Laos is a country where one can find the cheapest accomodation of all the Indochina, food there is cheap and delicious as well and so travelling to Laos is very convinoent for budget travelers. Daily budget of 15-20$ should be sufficient to have a normal life there, eating good and travelling. Check the following list to keep your budget low.
Budget tips:
ANZ ATMs allow to withdraw up to 2 000 000 Kips (250$), which is the maximum so you will pay less fee and get more money for your money
Eat at street stalls and markets, BBQ is awsome.
Walk, it's for free and you will fet to know the area better
Rent a motorbike, it's just 6-8$ a day and gas 1$/liter, explore more for less.
Before you leave Laos, exchange your Kips (on the boarder), because they can not be exchanged outside the counry
